Summer Fun: Padre Island

We recently headed to Corpus Christi for Mary Grace and Olivia to compete in a swim meet. We snuck in a side trip to the beach at Padre Island for little extra fun!

Everybody headed right out into the waves!

Olivia held tight to somone's hand. The waves were great this weekend!

Bailey battled the waves and came in for a rest.

Eventually, Olivia decided that an intertube was a better choice than holding on to someone else. She also got a mouth full of salt water.
Emma enjoyed every single minute of the beach. Pools are OK, but give this girl a beach anytime!
Let the sandcastle building begin! Unfortunately, the tide was coming in and it washed away the castle before it was completed.
Olivia searched for shells. All the ones she found held living creatures, so we had to let them stay on the beach.
Mary Grace enjoyed time in the sun after jumping waves.
Of the three times we've made it to the Texas coast, this was the best day at the beach. The beaches were clean, not covered in seaweed. It wasn't too crowded, and the ocean breezes made the heat bearable. This little respite from our busy summer schedules was just what we needed!
