A New Direction?

For most homeschool families, it's the time of year when we scour curriculum magazines, search for reveiws, and pray for the ability to find great deals on curriculum for next year. It's time to throw out what isn't working and tweak what is.

Our lives have changed much over the last two years, and we are going away from our eclectic, made-by-mom plans. Since I have taken on a part-time job, I simply need help with planning.

We are not a school-at-home family. Because many curriculums are designed to be just that, the search has been harder than what I imagined. I love Charlotte Mason . We've also thrown in some of the classical approach and even a bit of unschooling at times. We've lapbooked, and we've done workbooks. My desire is to keep school fun while choosing a curriclum that is planned for me.

In my research, I have found these options My Father's World, Heart of Dakota, Winter Promise, and Epi Kardia.

These are curricula I am currently considering. I'm leaning towards MFW, simply because I can use one program for my 2nd, 5th , and 7th graders next year. It's going to be a change, but I think it will be a better fit for the circumstances we are now in.
