Easter 2011

The Resurrection... that's what Easter is about. Though we do allow egg hunts and Easter baskets, we strive to teach our children the meaning of Easter.

For the first time ever, we attended a Good Friday service. No other church that we've attended has ever has a service on Good Friday. Why not? Without Friday and the crucifixion, there would have been no resurrection on Sunday. We rejoice in a risen Savior, but before the resurrection was a Friday. A Friday in which Jesus endured the torure of being beaten, broken, and nailed to a cross. A Friday in which Jesus took my sins and yours upon Himself. A Friday in which the Father turned His back on His son--for me and you.

Then came Sunday. On Sunday, the tomb was empty. On Sunday, Jesus was alive!

The candy and eggs will soon be gone, but Jesus is for eternity. I hope you know Him and His joy.

"Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

John 14:6
